The early change will get out almost all the scrapings there will be, I'd then do just the 500 mile change, but essentially you are correct, as you have no oil filter, the more the merrier. With regard to the first oil change... I notice the sump has been fitted with a sump plate that has drain hole (old motor didn't have drain plug in the plate), is it satisfactory to just drain through the plug or is it better to take whole sump plate off to ensure any mentally bits come out? Or is that a daft question?! Congrats! Normally there is a magnet on drain plug so should be sufficient 👍👍

Well done - especially as some of it seems to have been done by crawling in the gutter!

Yep just use the drain plug, that's the point of it. If something is big enough to be caught in the mesh it's engine toast time anyway.

You should have gone Type-4 though. I'm keen to see how well this goes compared to !my old motor, was driving on 3 cylinders for god knows how long, then 2 cylinders for a while! But even when I think it was running well it might of been shit, this nrew one might be quite spritely!

I've driven loads and although the max power is in a band, the throttle response varies considerably.

After yesterday running and sounding sweet, just too fast, today it's running shite.
Was told to have valves at 0.2 which zed said was ok for a new engine but after a while go back to 0.16 once the engines loosened up
Is it likely I need to reset valves to 0.16 already, ?
Got it tuned up, carb tuning makes no difference
