Sorry that should of said timed up, carb adjustment makes no difference Ok I'll check for sir leaks next session Worktop! Bleedin spell check. Yep if you can't tune the carb, which I know you had refurbished, gotta be a leak. Ah bollocks! I was really meticulous about tightening stuff up, checking torques etc. After it ran so well yesterday I was sure I'd have it finished today

Can't even get the bloody thing started
I loosened the throttle cable and reset the throttle stop as someone suggested. (I couldn't get the stop screw set correctly as the throttle kept coming to rest in a slightly different position) Reset carb settings to the 2 and 2.5 turns out. Cranked over and won't fire up. Tried cranking while twisting dizzy slowly , no joy. Checked plugs which were wet and also got fuel sprayed out the exhaust so obviously flooded. Left it for for a while , tried again , no joy. Poured petrol into carb throat, spluttered for 10 secs then cutout, then won't start again. Left again in case it's flooded, then another try. Cranked over continuously for about 6 or 7 minutes, tried doing nothing, then twisting dizzy, then pumping throttle , nothing. Battery now going flat again.
Bare in mind the first day I tried it fired up and ran fine, just too fast.
So what am I missing,? Fuels getting to the carb, and obviously to the plugs as they've been wet. The carb idle solenoid works.

Clearly electrical then, in my experience you need two of you to be able to twist dizzy also your talking 5 degrees not 50 degrees. Reset the timing statically. If you still have points recheck them. Try and start it, once you have it going you can loosen distributor and move slightly

^^^ What they both said. use the "bulb and 2 wires method" to static time it. It should then start. If not, it's another problem.

It's got electronic ignition, I've been told that can't be statically timed, as long as it's in the ball park it should start??

Ball park is 5 degrees have you got markings on your bottom pulley if you have, time to the markings statically and as @pickles said check for spark at the plugs!

Checked spark on no2 plug, no spark
I don't understand how there can be no spark when it was running the other day. Nothing has changed.
. I'm so fucking pissed off I'm having a white wine. Normally I'd walk tut shop for grog rather than drink white but arse to it

It is so annoying I know! Be methodical check wires are on coil, rotor arm is on properly and not damaged, distributor cap is on properly, coil lead in properly and all plug leads are in.

Take the coil lead off top of dizzy cap n get roof ta turn over whilst holding near case to earth ,should be small spark , if you've got that then it must be module leads or plug? You gotta get spark to plug init

I don't know, I just seem to go round in circles, every extra bit of advice I'm given just confuses me more and I end up doubting if I've done anything right. I've got my old 009 I can put in and try.
