Is it ok to use cheap bottled water from Tesco for the windscreen washer bottle? I normally put Evian in or occasionally Volvic if Evian wasn't available. Just trying to keep costs down so I was wondering if the cheap Tesco water would work as well.

Naturally carbonated I hope. It's the bubbles that get the hard stuck on bugs off with ease.

Anything with "mountain" and "spring" somewhere on the bottle should work. The only difference to evian et al is the advertising budget.

Cheers guys, just one other quick question if I can. We've got one garage locally that sells air for the tyres for 20p and another, (still in the village) that sells the much more expensive 50p air. Will I get better fuel consumption and speed from the more expensive air?

The difference will be one at the top of village and the other at bottom, one should never use 'air' from the bottom as it will cause greater surface noise but on a positive side you'll always have a clear pitch each side when camping.

It's said the difference is minimal, but then 30p isn't much to loose trying. If your tyres need inflating regularly (low m.p.psi) I'd stck to the cheap stuff.

I'm really glad this thread has been started - I knew that a fizzy liquid, so as to get the bugs off, had to be put in there but hadn't realised that it could be water.
It's going to save me a fortune.

I normally put a bit of Stella in mine. The flys just waltz off as if they own the screen then start a scrap on the spare wheel.

Toilet water is ok ,it smells better n you get a good squirt or so they say , as for air if you use compressed air it works out cheaper than 30 peas
