Yes I think so. Only prob is you won't know if the grease has gone into the joint or just stayed in the boot 😞

I'd take them off and grease em, make sure it's done right now you'll be doing 80mph everywhere

Yeah undo a side (even big one) you can re cable tie it, bollock loads of grease in and slide the driveshaft in and out to work it in

As you ashed, take the drive shaft off and do it properly. The bellows bit isn't supposed to be full of grease just the bearing. On that subject, same with rear bearings. I used to hate changing them when someone had filled every orifice to the brim. One just needs to grease the bearings.

So took off inner CV and regressed, better but still knocks but not as often, ordered new CV joint to fit. So is it inner or outer? I have the whole shaft off now and it seems like there is more play on the outer(wheel end) is there any way of telling?

Maybe you spread remnants of the outer grease a bit while doing the inner?

It's such a messy job that on my own buses, again clicking or not, I replace all 4 joints just so it's done, they're not that expensive and when I've bought them as kits with rubber and grease the rubbers have lasted so far.

I put my inners on the outer and put the new ones on the inner, the outers were more worn due I suppose to the angle and more movement

Annoyingly loads of fresh looking grease in the but just dried out horrible stuff on the joint itself. So do I put the new one in order regressed and repack and refit?

It won't hurt to try, mind how you take apart though, it's like a Chinese puzzle, they lock up if you don't get it right, if the balls are blue though they're probably fooked
