can i put a plug that fits in my cigar socket on the end of my wires instead of the clips ,be a lot easier than getting to my battery everytime...

Is there not a risk of over charging as it'll just keep pumping power to it.

Yes provided you can cope with the cigar lighter plug getting smoky hot if the battery is flat and the charger delivers something like 10 amps. They are some of the crappest plugs invented. Only meant to deliver current for as long as it takes to light a fag then the lighter would pop out and disconnect. Buy a proper high current plug and socket and wire that in for charging.
