We were sat at techenders talking tow bars with Matt & I said the reason for looking at tow bars was for a possible future purchase of a little teardrop so Katie could bring a friend camping!
Matt said he'd done the same for his lad but his lad wasn't really interested & he was toying with selling it, he showed us a pic & it was perfect, we agreed a price & Matt kindly dropped it off at our gaff yesterday!
It has a leaky door & no interior so have a bit of work to do but looking forward to getting stuck into a new project!
Pics to follow...

Today after doing my chores I was allowed to play & stripped all the material lining out & half the ply battons came with it so we pulled em all out Had a measure up inside & sat contemplating the leaky door issue, it then started raining so we pulled the door shut & sat watching the water & further thoughts on how to resolve it... That door is proper heavy too & one of the hinges isn't holding very well so won't be long before it gives up so I'm thinking of sealing the door shut & cutting a new door opening possibly in the side!

Can you not fit new rubbers ? Yes but not sure that would fix it, Its got a few seals on it but they have to cross the hinge so when shut the hinge squishes the seal. The door has a lot of metal inside it and is really heavy, the kids are struggling to lift it so although I could replace the hinges, fix the one that's coming adrift it will still be an issue of weight so I'm thinking fit a new modern style door with frame, seal up the old one job done 👍🏻

I'd replace the door - it could do some serious injury if it dropped shut on one of them when they were playing around

I'd replace the door - it could do some serious injury if it dropped shut on one of them when they were playing around I was thinking of sealing the hatch shut & cutting a new door into it but the existing hatch is curved, so last night it came to me! If I remove the door completely & fit a GRP panel into the opening & seal that I shall then have a flat surface to fit a new door, it won't look the same but I don't think it will look crap either! At the end of the day its not an original it's a replica of the westfalia funeral trailer made by Retrolight Trailers, if you recall Marc & Bev from Dogs n Dubs this trailer was the first produced so a prototype, we are just interested in it being water tight & then fit it out so Katie can take a friend camping with us... I'm on the google hunt now for pre-made GRP panel about 20-25mm thick with white gel coat (1m x 1m) & a small teardrop trailer / horse box door, preferably one with radius corners which I feel would be more complimentary to the look of the trailer.

Needs a vent in roof to jeek air fresh at night, a small round solar one would work.

Could you not just remove window cut in half top to bottom then re fab middle to have two windows maybe one with vent ,that way your keeping the integratey of the trailer and making access bigger / same size if needed? Removing top hinges which are causing water prob ?

Removing top hinges which are causing water prob ? That's a possibility, currently waiting on prices for a door which could have a bearing on the direction we take 👍🏻
