So before I go in with all spanners blazing, can someone enlighten me on how this is achieved? No idea how the wheel got half cocked in the first place but it's annoying me because it doesn't look cemetrical. Is it a case of take the wheel off and just move it round or do you have to go under and adjust the drag link?

You should first ensure tracking and camber correct, then with wheels forward, I.e. steering wheel in it's normal cocked position, disconnect the drag link from the box arm.
Then turn the wheel from lock to lock counting the turns, then exactly halfway back.
Back under and adjust the drag link to match drop arm position. That's got the box centred.
Maybe your steering wheel is now straight. If not, pull it off and put it on staight. Don't over tighten it before going for a test drive to check you have it right.
