While playing with myself in the empty engine bay of my van yesterday,it dawned on me the the starter and leisure battery have been sat sitting there for 3 months doing nothing, checked the voltages, s/b is at 12.7 v which is ok ish ? Bit l/b is at 0.5 v. This is is goosed now? I believe completely draining it wrecks it?

Yep but I'd be amazed it's even registering that low. It's obviously had a drain pulling off it for a while, I doubt even a ctek would bring it back... How old is it?

I've had it about a year, I got it secondhand hand but it was brand new unused if you see want I mean. Worked fine for the 6 months or so it was actually in use. Maybe the stereo been draining it

I'd try and recharge it but wouldn't hold out much hope of it working.
Even if it did I'd want to keep an eye on it for a while as I understand that sometimes the voltage reading can be misleading

Run 24 volts into it for 30 secs or so then bung it on a decalcifying phase charger. I've done loads. 50/50 chance but better than nothing.

Any chance the van could blow up? Then we could claim on the insurance? Just a thought...

It's fine, at worst it'll not work, at best you get your battery back. I'm not TWC! These are tried and tested methods.

I got no idea what decalcifying phase charger is and I'm fairly sure I don't have one!

What I've done in the past, due to equipment avaiable being a bog standard charger 8A max or 2A trickle, is put it on full power and see what happens. If after an hour or so nothing has happened I put it on trickle for and hour or switch it off. Then repeat a few times. This seems to work better than just plugging in an waiting, or maybe I'm just impatient.
