Have to say I was surprised at the exhaust, after everybody saying they don't fit right, I was expecting the worse but it was actually fine, fitted a treat.

I fitted the nice useful 2 exhaust to heat/ex clamps I had to order as thed ones in the fitting kit are about as much use as a runny jobby

Carbs on now., but had a crap wkend on it, had a few very easy jobs to do, didn't finish any of them, due to the usual shitty little things that hold you up So thought I'd pop the fuel tank back in.... Trying to get the filler pipe back on the tank neck, forgot what a pita that is. Ended up spraining my wrist which i haven't been able to move since ,so now having several days off it till that's better. So much for putting the engine in this week.. .

Looking good, almost squeaky bum time! Do you have to run in a new cam? I can't remember what you bought in the end.. Spec is... Reground crankshaft Nrew main bearings New big end bearings New camshaft bearings New barrels New pistons and rings New gudgeon pins New flywheel oil seal Refaced flywsheel New spark plugs New gaskets Crack tested case Remanufactured heafds I've no idea what most of that means ! "Running in" basicaslly consists of a few oil changes, dont rag it and don't lug it for 500 miles Also reckons 0.2 mm valve gap. Is it not usually 0.16 or something?

It's common advice to set the gaps on the large side initially but after you run it in I'd set them normally, 0.15mm.
I'd also change to oil after 50-100 miles, you have no oil filter and the rings will give the honed barrels a good scraping.

He said first oil change at 500, but yes it makes sense to do as you said. Maybe another changeat 200, then 500, you think? The more oil changes thes better?

The early change will get out almost all the scrapings there will be, I'd then do just the 500 mile change, but essentially you are correct, as you have no oil filter, the more the merrier.
