Has anybody got any Genuine VW heat exchangers for a T1 1600 Engine, must be complete and solid with no holes where there shouldn't be.

Yes - I've got a couple of NOS ones from VW Classics but they seem to have less fins than other genuine ones I've seen.
I suspect that they're for some market(s) with a milder climate.

Yeah - I thought that I'd struck gold. It was only when they arrived and I looked inside that I realised what they were. Still, given a few more years of global warming they should be fine for our winters.

Rare as a rare thing. The only ones I ever came across were on a US import which luckily was mine. They really are good and as you have to thrash a 1600 in a bus, even better. When it was snowing I had to turn the heat down. 👍

Given mine are genuine VW but have fewer fins it might be worth seeing pics of the inside of ones you are planning on buying to make sure that you don't get 'warm-climate' ones like mine.
