Seeing as repro fuel sender's sound shit and I guess you can't just match a random sender to the t2 gauge, If you fit an aftermarket fuel tank of some description ( seen one somewhere for a t2 but where I don't know) then I presume there's no reason you can't fit a different - reliable - fuel gauge /sender?

Where's the fun in knowing how much fuel you've got?

You could always fit a trip speedo and refill every 200 miles or so.

I know it's only one example but I fitted (I'm sure it was from just kampers) an after market fuel sender about five years ago and it's worked perfectly ever since. If your tanks ok and if you cut an access hatch then changing a u/s one next time would take about 5 minutes.

Ah I was under the impression they were guff and either didn't work properly at all (showing completely wrong level) or gave up after a couple of months? I only remember seeing negative posts about them !

I have one, it doesn't read quite right but it's good enough as I know it's foibles. But running out? It must be nearly 40 years since I let that happen - try filling up rather than a fiver's worth?

Go for the better quality one, more dosh, loadsofmoney, but the float kept getting stuck in the cheaper one.

I wonder how many people, like I did once, look at the new sender and think the arm doesn't make very good contact with that coil of wire, I'll just give it a tweak. Not a good idea as I found out when it had worn through the wire a few months later. But I didn't then moan about jk selling shit senders that only last a few months. Pure speculation of course.

Yes, Eggboxes thought I'd go for a name change. Zedbed haha, yes I have to keep changing mine when I loose my logins and find I've also changed email address so can't get the reset password emails either! As long as it has zed in it somewhere nobody seems to notice. Well I thought not anyway. It originally got shortened to zed because so many people in real life started calling me that and I liked it. Steve is a bit too common.
