Gas as in calor gas, camping stoves etc. If I use a quick release fitting in a rubber gas pipe, when the fitting is split I would assume the 2 separate fittings are gas tight, so no leakage?

Want to use a quick release in the supply pipe from cylinder to fridge, when it's disconnected I want to make sure there not be any gas leaky leaky from the fitting

I would guess only the supply half cuts off but that's good enough?

Supply half only has a ball valve Taht cuts off. The other end doesn't matter as it uses gas but doesn't produce it. Best way to purge the line sis turn the gas off but eave the fridge on until it uses the gas left in the line. Then when you disconnect there will be minimal gas
