I have a Exide dual ER550 115Ah 760A 12v 550Wh* (*effective in 20h).
This should be fine for the little power we use as I'll get a 200w solar system.
What split charger rating do I need and if I add another battery at a later stage should it be identical?
Wire for the lights, power outlets, fridge etc can I use a multi strand household flex ( if I've got some)?

Get a durite auto sensing split charge relay, they are about 40 amp i think. Ideally when you get another battery it should be the same

I've dug out some 2.5mm hi-fi/speaker cable, will this do for a few usb sockets, led lighting etc?

Should do - I believe that it'd take 20 amps or so so well above what you plan to use it for. This is not strictly applicable but should help: www.cable-ratings.co.uk/

I've dug out some 2.5mm hi-fi/speaker cable, will this do for a few usb sockets, led lighting etc? You'd think so but everything connected to music seems to be exaggerated 100 fold and poor quality -speaker wire is famous for this. I used speaker wire for my cylinder head temperature gauge. There is no connection to any electricity, it works by magic. One side stopped working and I just fixed it - the end 2" of wire had crumbled to dust in just 18 months. Copper plated ali or something maybe. I really wouldn't put any amps through it, it'll probably spontaneously combust.
