Bus has passed its MOT the Subaru definitely won't pass with the subframe as rusty as it is, so this weekend I am going to rip the engine and box and loom out. Should be fun, oh and buy the wife a new car!! Get her a Skoda Yeti. It's the future 😎 Too pricey, we had a tiguan before but this is a second car so golf it will be

Loom work has started, i was going to ship it away to get done but i fancy the challenge of doing it myself. Also took the gearbox out although i probably won't use it. Looks complicated to me.

Yeah I've ordered a Haynes manual which i hope is the right one, pretty sure i have the easiest loom to work on though as the ECU is attached to the engine so less wiring and is a "dumber" car, in hindsight I should have stripped the harness in the car and Carried on trying to run the engine each time. Ah well, I'll figure it out. If not I'll take it to nick tune and he can sort it. Is yours at fellows now? How long before it's done?

How long before it's done? yes dropped it off at Fellows the other day, I'm hoping it will be about a month, getting longer 3rd and 4th plus Ej20. I'm watching yours a little envious of the bragging rights of doing it yourself. But also conscious that doing myself is probably a bit above the mechanical/electrical ability of an ex shipwright and ships navigator

I think the clue is "cold" water pipe. It won't end well.

I think the clue is "cold" water pipe. It won't end well. My thoughts also but i think other people have used it, it's got to be pretty sturdy as it's designed to go under ground, concreted in etc etc. Plus you don't get a hot water feed to a house

How would you clamp it? Isn't it hard plastic?

How would you clamp it? Isn't it hard plastic? I would use rubber hose as well, put for the long run to the rad I would use this.

I just don't see the point risking it, for the price of the conversion savings on a bit of cooling pipe seems daft, nice proper water pipes if I were you.
