With an open cone filter the induction roar is mega loud, I'm hoping what I have used will be quieter. If not I will try other options. Also trying to make a quiet exhaust but we'll see. At cruising speed I think it will be quiet but at full throttle it might be about loud. Hopefully get to see this weekend.

Scruffy Scooby engines are the best ones! Powder coating is for tarts...💃
RE noise, once I had got bored of the boy racer exhaust and welded in a second silencer, it's so quiet the gearbox whine is louder.. you feel like you are driving an electric motor 👍

My Scooby powered bus is now a load quieter than when it had the old air-cooled engine.

When my backward carburettor fuelled engine isn't right it sounds noisy. Much quieter when the carbs are tuned balanced and no blockages. If doesn't have to be far out to be noticeably noiser.

well i filled it with water tonight to test the cooling setup, one leak that i just had to tighten a hose clip for and it seems to work, it got up to temperature and the fans cut in. not sure if its cooling properly but time will tel, after the next run tomorrow, then i might drop half the water out and put some coolant of sorts in.

Nice one Matt, glad to see you've got there 😀 I tend to agree with Steve about your engine bay, my bus looks sheddy as fuck but I had my engine bay painted before the install. But then I am a tart with a powder coated lump 😉 I have a cone filter on mine, it is loud when you rev the engine and also when you boot it, but cruising it's much quieter than my air cooled, I took all the sound deading stuff out of the top of the engine bay when it when in for paint and didn't bother replacing it.

I thought about moving my coolant bottle to the rear a bit higher up like yours as I have a top hatch, mine is easy to monitor and top up where it is but a white bottle with pink gloop in takes away the glory of my pretty engine.

What's going on with the folded clamped hose top right?

The debate about coolant colour ... I was told blue and that is what is in mine.

What's going on with the folded clamped hose top right? Its the output from the engine for the heater but instead the coolant bottle bottom output feeds to the heater and then returns and goes to the thermostat.
