Had problems starting so had the battery drop tested and it came out 55%. Drove home last night and only got 10 miles and it started missfiring and it got worse and worse. Anyway, what do everyone recomend? What's Bosch like? and what model please

If you Dan get to a halfords go with one of their's as they have 3,4 and 5 year warranties.
Think they have yuasa as their top level battery

I tend to buy from Halfords as there's one a couple of miles away so if there's a problem I can easily take it back rather than pay postage.

Agreed - that's why I just look at price and length of warranty at Halfords now rather than make.

I always find a fully charged one is best.

On a more technical note a VW 'specialist ' one told me get one for diesel engines as they give a bigger hump at start up. Have know idea if this makes a difference or if they still make petrol /diesel batteries. I like wood better.

My MGB still has one, in the boot, since it was converted to 1x12v battery from 2x6v about 40 years ago.
It's about the only bit of the car that doesn't rust.
